Talking to live crowds is one of my favourite things to do - I'd say it lands somewhere between watching my daughter grow up and realizing a cashier has under-charged me for something I shouldn't be buying anyway
(2 of my all-time faves).
I have the extreme privilege of hosting Vancouver Canucks games at Rogers Arena as the In-Arena Host. During time-outs and intermissions I go on the big screen and talk to 19,000 fans about my favourite hockey team... not a bad gig!
Over the course of my career i have hosted about 300 concerts (the largest audience was a 40,000 person festival in northern Alberta for MTV), and countless corporate events (Nokia, BCAMA, Fashions Shows, etc...).
Each night of the 2010 Winter Olympics I hosted the Vancouver House - Live City Vancouver - a 10,000 person outdoor downtown venue.
In 2013 I hosted Ted Talks in east Vancouver which I really enjoyed, especially the presentation about how to properly tie a shoe.
I also have a tendency to emcee by friends' weddings... in fact, I was ordained (yes, online) as a Universal Minister so I can preside over ceremonies too.
